This summer, 18 students
from Ma Chan Duen Hey Memorial College made a historic
first visit to South Dakota along with two teachers.
This exchange program has developed over the past
year as members from various congregations in South
Dakota have been to Hong Kong on short-term mission
trips.
Students helped with service projects in Rapid City
and the Vacation Bible School out on the Pine Ridge
Reservation. They also had the opportunity to visit
with young people from congregations in Rapid City
and Pierre.
In addition, they were able to visit Mt. Rushmore,
the Badlands, and go boating on the Missouri River.
The group also sang at Divine Shepherd in Black Hawk
and Faith in Pierre. Members of the group stayed with
host families. In Hong Kong and in SD, many are looking
forward to another visit in 2011.
